Introduction
Vtm means virus transport media, which is similar to the UTM (universal transport media). This type of vtm medium is based on Hanks solution, and Bovine Serum Albumin V and ingredients such as HEPES are added to make the virus more stable. VTM-N medium is a guanidine salt-based medium containing protein denaturants and nuclease inhibitors, which can lyse cells, release and preserve nuclei (RNA & DNA); at the same time, it can inactivate viruses to ensure safe operation but protect RNA and DNA to the greatest extent, up to 48h at room temperature. So it is not suitable for virus culture or rapid antigen detection.
